Prerequisites

Don't have NinjaTrader yet?
Matrix Systems runs on top of NinjaTrader 8 - you'll need it installed before you can import anything. Get NinjaTrader →
Supported NinjaTrader version
{{SUPPORTED_NT_VERSION_RANGE}} - this will be confirmed and filled in once QA/compatibility testing is complete.

Back up first

Recommended, not required
Before importing anything new, it's good practice to back up your NinjaTrader workspace (File → Utilities → Backup). If anything looks unexpected afterward, you can always go back.

Installation steps

Verify your download

Compare the checksum of your downloaded file against the one published with your release (see the download email or Discord announcement). This confirms the file wasn't corrupted or altered in transit.

Expected result: the checksum you calculate matches the published one exactly.

Import into NinjaTrader

In NinjaTrader 8: Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On..., then select your Matrix Systems package file.

Expected result: NinjaTrader shows an import confirmation with no error messages.
Common mistake
Importing while NinjaTrader has unsaved chart changes open can be confusing if something needs to reload. Save your work first.

Restart NinjaTrader

Close and reopen NinjaTrader 8 completely so the new strategies are fully loaded.

Expected result: NinjaTrader restarts normally, no compile errors on startup.

Find your strategies

Open a chart for one of your 11 markets, then right-click chart → Strategies... - your Matrix Systems strategy for that instrument should appear in the list.

Expected result: the strategy for your chart's instrument appears by name in the list.

Confirm installation

You're installed when...
Your strategy appears in the Strategies list for the correct instrument, and its Contracts Per Instrument setting is visible and editable.

Common installation errors

Strategy doesn't appear in the list
Confirm the import completed without error and that NinjaTrader was fully restarted. See the Troubleshooting Guide.
Compile error on restart
Collect the exact error text and contact support - see the Support Guide for what information to include.
